This month, Pure Storage has announced three important end-of-sale notifications for its products.
Products included in the announcement are:
- FlashArray//XL R1 Product Line
- FlashBlade XFM (FB-MC-XFM-8400)
- 24TB & 48TB DFMc Datapacks for FB//S and FA//C
Below are further details of each announcement and the relevant dates for you to be aware of.
End of Sale Notification: FlashArray//XL R1 Product Line
Effective Date: 31/12/2025
Pure Storage is announcing the End-of-Sale (EoS) for the FlashArray//XL R1 product line. This includes all configurations of XL130 R1 and XL170 R1 generation

End of Sale Notification: FlashBlade XFM (FB-MC-XFM-8400)
Pure Storage is launching the next-generation XFM module (FB-MC-XFM-8400R2) for multi-chassis FlashBlade systems on June 16, 2025. This new model will replace the current FB-MC-XFM-8400, which will officially reach End of Sale on October 31, 2025.
Key Details:
- The current FB-MC-XFM-8400 will no longer be quotable after October 31, 2025
- The new XFM-8400R2 must be used for all new systems going forward
- New XFM requires Purity//FB 4.6.0 or later
- For limited cases, 4.5.x support will be available during the transition period via targeted LLR Purity

End of Sale Notification: 24TB & 48TB DFMc Datapacks for FB//S and FA//C
- The availability of 24TB and 48TB DFMc datapacks/expansion for FB//S and FA//C SKUs will be officially extended to the end of Q3FY26 (Oct 31, 2025) for customers that need to fill-out existing arrays of 24/48TB.
- Ask your Partner Account Manager for the full list of SKUs that can be made quotable again.
- This extension is only applicable to capacity expansions and not for new sales which should continue to use 37/75TB DFMc.
- During this extension, lead times can be as long as 12 weeks for 24/48TB DFMc. It is highly recommended that orders close as soon as possible and to avoid waiting until the Sept/Oct time frame to place orders.
- There will be no further availability of the 24/48TB DFMc datapacks/expansion SKUs after Oct 2025.
- The data pack/expansion SKUs will be DE-ACTIVATED in SFDC on Nov 1, 2025.
Key Reminders:
- These SKUs will be deactivated on November 1, 2025
- Lead times may be up to 12 weeks, so place orders early to avoid delays
Replacement Options & Migration Paths
To support customers beyond the October deadline and reduce lead time risk, Pure Storage recommend the following alternatives:
FlashArray:
- Capacity Consolidation – Return “N” 24/48TB drives and receive “N” 37/75TB drives
- Half-populated Chassis Expansion – Add 37/75TB drives to underutilized chassis
- Expansion Shelf (if supported) – Add a shelf and populate with 37/75TB drives
FlashBlade:
- Capacity Consolidation – Replace existing drives with higher-density options per technical guidelines
- Heterogeneous Expansion – Expand 48TB systems with 75TB drives (supported since version 4.5.2)
