Pure Storage has announced some exciting updates to their Pure FlashBlade series with its latest edition - the Pure FlashBlade //S.
A major upgrade on its predecessor, the new FlashBlade //S brings twice the density, twice the performance, and twice the power efficiency as the current Gen1 model, providing organisations with speed, simplicity, scalability and sustainability for their unstructured data workloads.
Configured for both high performance and high capacity, the FlashBlade //S provides a single platform for all unstructured data workloads, quashing the need for disparate storage arrays to meet performance and capacity requirements.
Its new 5RU-sized chassis is capable of holding up to 10 blades, with space for 4 Direct Flash Modules available in 24TB or 48TB sizes per blade, the FlashBlade //S can hold up to almost 2PB of data. As each Direct Flash Module is removable, the array can easily be scaled for capacity and/or performance whilst also improving reliability since compute and storage hardware can be serviced independently, decoupling resiliency and availability.
At the heart of the FlashBlade is Purity FlashBlade 4.0 which provides visibility across workloads for intelligence data management, unlimited scalability of data, and a clear status overview of your data storage.
