We’re now ISO 14001 accredited, the international standard for environmental management systems (EMS), for the provision of data storage solutions and services to all business sectors including procurement and re-sale of associated equipment.
As talks of climate change and the urgent need for action heats up, we’re super proud to announce we’ve recently been awarded ISO 14001 accreditation via BSI.
It's no secret that the IT sector contributes greatly to global greenhouse emissions. The resources and energy required to manufacture and maintain the technologies we use in our everyday lives are estimated to contribute towards 2% of global emissions. While that may not sound significant, this is equivalent to the global aviation industry’s emissions and is projected to rise further still to 15% by 2040, as more and more people become connected worldwide. As the window of opportunity to combat the devastating effects of climate change becomes smaller over time, it’s vital that organisations such as ourselves do their part in the fight against global warming.
That is where ISO 14001 comes in. Its framework has become the international standard for organisations of all sizes and all sectors to assess their day-to-day operations and take the necessary measures to reduce their environmental impact. As an organisation within the IT sector, we are wholly committed to improving our environmental performance wherever possible. As such, we have already implemented numerous sustainable initiatives such as, but not limited to:
- Partnering with the World Land Trust for the Borneo project
- Working from solar-powered offices
- Switching to electric-powered company vehicles and providing electric car charge points at our offices
- Eradicating the use of single-use plastic
- Sponsoring amazing charitable projects like the 721 Challenge
Our CMO, Alex Raben commented, "We are incredibly proud to have been awarded ISO 14001 accreditation as it provides an official rubber stamp of approval that certifies our efforts. While we recognise that our work is far from over, we are confident that this will further bolster our efforts in becoming a sustainable provider of industry-leading IT infrastructure and data protection solutions."
