Social Responsibility

At COOLSPIRiT we pride ourselves on offering excellence at every stage of our service, while maximising the social, economic and environmental wellbeing of local communities.

Our purpose as an organisation extends beyond simply supplying IT products and services to our customers. We also thrive on making differences wherever possible, be it big or small, to help support the overall impact that organisations can have on our local communities.
The initiatives we have in place include:
  • Apprenticeships for local people
  • Employment skills structure
  • Supporting the community
  • Donations of technology equipment
  • Local collaboration
  • Sustainability and environmental focus
  • Supporting charity

Apprenticeships

The best teams never stop learning and never stop developing their skills to keep ahead of our fast-evolving world. Supported by Toby Perkins, MP for Chesterfield and Shadow Apprenticeships Minister, our apprenticeship scheme offers real jobs in which our apprentices gain nationally recognised qualifications and vital industry experience. It's the most ideal choice for those who have a particular career path in mind but prefer to take a more hands-on approach to education.

Supporting Grass Roots football

They say that home is where the heart is, which is why supporting the community is an integral part of our ethos as an organisation. By supporting local initiatives such as Grass Roots football and numerous fundraising activities, we hope to help build a more positive, stronger and enriched local community. For the 2021-22 season, we wish Somersall Rangers U7s the best of luck!

Employment Skills

Through our established employment and skills initiative COOLSKiLLS, we promote the skills of every employee in our team, no matter which department they work within. The structured training and development of this initiative drives to ensure our team members are the best they can be. Our fully tracked system supports employees throughout their learning journey to help them achieve their goals and certifications.

Tech Donations to the Youth

With our regular technology refresh projects, we are able to donate hardware, that although we no longer require as a business, is still of great value and use to others. We strive to donate technology to fantastic causes where they can make a real difference. A proud donation we made during 2021 was of several Microsoft tablets to the Surrey ‘Recognising You Awards’, hosted by TV presenters Dick & Dom, celebrating the successes of young people.

Charity Bike Ride for MST

By supporting charities, we're actively helping people, organisations and communities achieve their goals. The COOLSPRiT team participated in the Peak District Pioneer Adventure Cross - a 100 mile mountain bike ride through the Derbyshire Peak District, proudly raising donations for the Multiple Sclerosis Trust. All donations made to this charity helps to improve the lives of those affected by Multiple Sclerosis.

Sustainability

We recognise the urgent need to take sustainability seriously. Knowing that our business activities can have a direct impact on the environment, we welcome our responsibility to minimise greenhouse emissions wherever possible. Having implemented best practices through many initiatives, we contribute towards the global effort of becoming carbon neutral. For example, for every order received we plant a tree with the World Land Trust. Learn more here.

Local Collaboration

As an organisation, we are committed to helping to build our local economy by supporting other local businesses. From service providers to goods suppliers, we always look to promote preferred status to local suppliers wherever possible. We also collaborate with our customers, partners, suppliers, and the local communities to help create positive outcomes.

UWCB for Cancer Research UK

Our team loves a challenge and there is no other more gruelling than Ultra White Collar Boxing! This annual event offers unique opportunities for people with no boxing background to experience the wonderful world of boxing in a safe and enjoyable environment. So far, Daniel Bailey, Luke Collis and Jonathan Forsyth from our very own GUARDiAN team have stepped into the ring, raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Tech Donation to Sherwood Observatory

In 2021 we donated a Smart whiteboard system to the Sherwood Observatory in Sutton-in-Ashfield. Since 1986, this non-profit charity has been dedicated to inspiring interest and curiosity in astronomy and related subjects within the local community. To be able to provide the best education, a well-equipped and up-to-date classroom environment is a must, so we hope this new equipment enhances the experience offered at the Sherwood Observatory.

Life-Saving Equipment for Hemsby Lifeboat

For nearly 50 years, Hemsby Lifeboat has been saving lives at sea and on the Norfolk Broads, completing over 2,500 rescues. As an independent and voluntary charity however, they are dependent on the generosity of the general public. To help support the amazing work of this charity, we donated a dry suit which will help to keep the crew safe as they go about saving lives.

World Scout Jamboree Korea 2023

Being only 1 of 36 Scouts selected to attend the 25th World Scout Jamboree from his group, this will be a life-changing trip for Ollie. He'll experience different culture, undertake adventurous activities, see new places and meet some of the 50,000 Scouts from around the world who are attending.

We hope that our donation of two batteries and two solar panel chargers will help him keep online; enabling him to keep us up to date us on his adventures!

Customer Charity Support

Supporting our customers and their chosen charities is something we love do where possible - through donations to raffles or similar activities.

An example is for Dementia UK, where our donation helped the customer raise a total of £20,044 for this fantastic charity - helping increase the number of dementia specialist Admiral Nurses in the UK,  giving more people affected by dementia the life-changing support that they need.

Supporting our community and beyond

We're in a fortunate position to be a provider that holds Social Value at the core of our business and customer relations. Find out how our positive company ethos and brand values can support your business as a COOLSPIRiT client.
