A local Council Partnership recently approached their trusted Account Manager at COOLSPIRiT for help and advice on replacing its ageing data storage platform, which was in need of replacement due to age, low capacity and poor performance.
The Partnership wanted to deploy a new dual site solution that would deliver the data capacity, data protection and data performance required by their ever growing workloads. These requirements were answered by the designing of a solution that includes technology from COOLSPIRiT’s key partners, offering a best of breed solution. Two Nimble CS3000 arrays with HPE compute and Brocade Fibre fabric was chosen for the virtualisation platforms. By utilising Nimble’s market leading compression and flash fabric features this will enable workloads to be efficiently delivered to the end users.
The Partnership also required efficient and proactive monitoring which Nimble InfoSight cloud based support system will deliver, helping the team free up time and move forward quicker with their other projects.
The final element required for the solution was data management. With expert advice from the COOLSPIRiT Enterprise Solutions team, Commvault was chosen by the Partnership. This was due to the industry leading features offered by Commvault software delivering the highest level of data protection available. Along with the software platform, Quantum Disk & tape has been chosen for the retention of backup data.
